Day two of the Dialogues a success

More than 60 people attended the Community Dialogues today to discuss
What Makes a Home a "Home"? Beyond bricks and mortar, what are the essential ingredients of safe, appropriate housing?

Moderator David Diamond (aka Headlines' Fearless Leader) kept everyone at a good pace and panelists
Liz Evans, Executive Director of the PHS Community Services Society Sandra Pronteau, Community Activist and Mark Smith, Executive Director of RainCity Housing and Support Society
provided their perspectives on the subject.

The crowd was fantastic and got very involved in the discussions.

Come out tomorrow to the final day of the Session. The topic will be
The 5 Ws: Who, Where, What, When and Why is the Money? How do we finance safe, appropriate housing for people who have been homeless?

Moderated by the Georgia Straight's editor, Charlie Smith and featuring:
Craig Crawford, Vice-President of Development Services, BC Housing Jill Davidson, Assistant Director, Housing Policy, City of Vancouver Catherine Hume, Vancouver Site Coordinator, At Home/Chez Soi Project, Mental Health Commission of Canada and Jaimie McEvoy, Director of the Hospitality Project and New Westminster City Councillor

The Community Dialogue Sessions are FREE and begin at 1:30PM at the Firehall Arts Centre (280 E. Cordova St.)
